The Executive Council is elected annually by the Student Parliament. In contrast to members of the Student Parliament, each council member is assigned a specific area of responsibility. They report on their work during Student Parliament meetings.
The Student Council always consists of a Chairperson and a Deputy Chairperson, as well as a Treasurer and their Deputy.
The remaining portfolios can be freely assigned by the Council Chair. However, there are rarely any fundamental changes to the structure, as the existing portfolios have proven effective over the years.
Currently, the following portfolios exist:
Anne-Sophie Andries & Adrian Alcaraz – Chairs of the Student Council
Hey there!
We are Anne (9th semester) and Adrian (5th semester) and we serve as Chairs of the Student Council.
While Anne is already in her fourth year as Chair, Adrian has recently joined the role.
Our responsibilities include coordinating the other council members, representing the student body externally, and working closely with the Dean’s Office and the Faculty.
In addition to our work in the Council, we are both involved in various projects such as the FdMSA e.V. – our alumni and student association – as well as SEG-Med, the Aanki project, and Mission Strahlende Kinderaugen. We also serve on several appointment and standing committees within our faculty.
For us, voluntary work is a way to actively shape and improve our studies and to create unforgettable experiences for all of us. Through our close cooperation with the University Hospital Aachen (UKA), we are also actively involved in faculty politics and well connected across the UKA.
If you have any questions or are interested in our work, feel free to reach out to us – we can usually be found somewhere at the UKA.
Best regards,
Anne und Adrian

Anne Herchen – Networking Department
Hey everyone,
I’m Anne (she/her), currently in my 9th semester and, since last year, your Networking Officer.
I am your contact person for exchange and collaboration both on RWTH level with other student councils and with medical students across Germany. This includes regular meetings of the @bvmd_deutschland, where topics such as health policy are discussed, and joint projects like the “Teddy Bear Hospital” are initiated.
I strongly believe that together we can tackle many of the challenges we (medical) students face and develop shared solutions.
If you’d like to get a glimpse into bvmd or networking work in general, feel free to write me atvernetzung@fsmed-aachen.deor simply approach me in person!
Best regards,
Anne
Delphine Geurts – First-Year Student Affairs Department
Hi everyone,
Welcome to Aachen!
I’m Delphine, 20 years old and currently in my 5th semester.
As the First-Year Student Affairs Officer, my team and I are committed to making your start at university as smooth as possible and being there for you along the way.
We want to give you an unforgettable beginning to your studies that you’ll always look back on fondly – with events such as the first-year welcome week, Wellerlooi, and of course the occasional party. This way, you can get to know each other, build connections, and take a break from everyday student life together.
You are now entering an exciting time full of new impressions, people, and experiences – from your very first lecture to your first exam. Many of these people will accompany you throughout your studies and may even become close friends. This is exactly what makes Aachen so special: not just the studies, but the sense of community!
When I started as a first-year student two years ago, I was impressed by how much dedication the senior students put into our start. We want to pass on that same feeling of community. In Aachen, nobody is alone – if you have any questions, feel uncomfortable, or simply want to talk, feel free to reach out to me or our team at any time. You can also contact me at erstireferent@fsmed-aachen.de.
Community, solidarity, and mutual support – that is the spirit of our student body.
I’m really looking forward to continuing this spirit together with my team and getting to know all of you soon!
We are very excited and looking forward to welcoming you!
Have a great time.
See you soon,
Delphine
